# frameword > frameword is a free macOS video editor that Claude drives. Describe the edit; Claude cuts, captions, animates and exports it, and your footage stays on your Mac. frameword is a native macOS video editor (Swift, Metal, AVFoundation) with an MCP server inside the app. Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, Antigravity or any MCP client connects to it and edits the open project through 68 validated tools: cuts, captions, transcript-anchored components (23 built-in, 8 Lottie templates), Claude-written code overlays (GSAP, three.js, d3, Lottie), voiceover, procedural music and SFX, vertical reframing, export. Every MCP call is one undo step. ## Requirements - macOS 26 or later, Apple Silicon only. Distributed as a .pkg, not on the Mac App Store. - The build is ad-hoc signed and not notarized yet: on first open, System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway. - Claude features need Claude Code, Claude Desktop or an Anthropic API key. Claude usage is billed to the user. ## Download - Frameword-0.6.0.pkg (29605725 bytes), released 2026-10-15: https://frameword.studio/download/Frameword-0.6.0.pkg - SHA-256: ac610deb4187678956532013c03c890db610c2dbaac28eb50d5aff3b541b6040 - Verify: shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/Frameword-0.6.0.pkg - Claude skill (for Claude Desktop / claude.ai): https://frameword.studio/download/frameword-skill.zip ## Connect automatically (0.6.0) Open Frameword > Connect Claude > Connect Automatically. It registers the bundled stdio helper /Applications/Frameword.app/Contents/Helpers/frameword-mcp with Claude Code (user scope), Claude Desktop, Codex (~/.codex/config.toml) and Antigravity (~/.gemini/config/mcp_config.json), keeping every other setting. No Node.js. The helper starts the app when a client first needs it. ## Connect Claude Code by hand Connect Claude shows this line with your key filled in (default port 47823): claude mcp add frameword --scope user -e FRAMEWORD_MCP_TOKEN= -e FRAMEWORD_MCP_PORT=47823 -- /Applications/Frameword.app/Contents/Helpers/frameword-mcp ## Connect Claude Desktop by hand Add to ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json, then restart Claude Desktop once: { "mcpServers" : { "frameword" : { "args" : [], "command" : "/Applications/Frameword.app/Contents/Helpers/frameword-mcp", "env" : { "FRAMEWORD_MCP_PORT" : "47823", "FRAMEWORD_MCP_TOKEN" : "" } } } } ## What leaves the Mac - Stays on the Mac: video and audio files, transcription (Whisper, on device), masks, renders, exports, models. - Goes to Anthropic through the user's own Claude client: transcript text, project structure and tool results; preview frames only if the user turns frame sending on (off by default). - No account, no frameword server, no telemetry. The MCP server listens only on 127.0.0.1 behind a bearer token. ## Pages - Home: https://frameword.studio/ - Turkish: https://frameword.studio/tr/ - Download: https://frameword.studio/download/ - Showcase: https://frameword.studio/showcase/ - A 12-second frameword promo: https://frameword.studio/showcase/fw01-promo-reel/ - Kinetic type on a Turkish voiceover: https://frameword.studio/showcase/fw02-kinetic-voiceover-tr/ - A counter that starts on the spoken number: https://frameword.studio/showcase/fw03-counter-tr/ - 3D year on a spoken word: https://frameword.studio/showcase/fw04-year-3d/ - frameword logo sting in three.js: https://frameword.studio/showcase/fw08-logo-sting-3d/ - Kinetic title: Describe the edit.: https://frameword.studio/showcase/fw09-kinetic-title/ - Re-export in about a second, as a chart: https://frameword.studio/showcase/fw10-reexport-chart/ Claude is a trademark of Anthropic. frameword is an independent project, not affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic.
